This position is full-time and in-house. Applicants must be able to work onsite with our team in our Fort Walton Beach, Florida office.
What will you do?
As a TalkingParents Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you will work with other software engineers of the highest caliber to design, develop, and implement test automation frameworks and solutions. Position Responsibilities:
• Design and implement test automation frameworks and tools from the ground up.
• Define and maintain end-to-end test strategies, including integration with CI/CD pipelines and test result reporting.
• Collaborate with DevOps to integrate test automation into build and release processes.
• Write high-quality test code that is maintainable, efficient, and effective.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure testability is built into the product from the beginning.
• Develop and execute UI automated tests for both Android and iOS platforms.
• Analyze test results, identify patterns, and provide actionable feedback to improve product quality.
• Work within issue tracking system for work assignment and status.
• Take ownership of test architecture and drive testing strategy through implementation.
Position Requirements:
• BS or MS in Computer Science or related technical studies or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in software development with a focus on testing and quality.
• Proven experience with XCUITest, UI Automator or Espresso.
• Strong programming skills in at least one modern language such as Kotlin, Swift, Java or Python.
• Monitor, analyze, and triage test failures, and ensure test results are reliable and actionable.
• Experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks.
• Proficiency with mobile (Android/iOS) testing methodologies.
• History of working with version control systems such as Git.
• Experience working with issue-tracking systems (TFS, Azure Boards, Jira, ClickUp).
• Awareness of critical concepts in DevOps and Agile principles.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
Bonus Skills:
• Experience writing automated tests for RESTful APIs and verifying backend integration
• Knowledge of cloud testing platforms and infrastructure.
• Experience with performance testing and monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with security testing concepts.
• Experience with test data management strategies.
• Proficiency with backend testing methodologies.
