• Position: Software Developer
• Location: Middletown RI
• Clearance: Secret or above Job Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in a computer science, computer engineering, or a related field ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION:
• Ability to obtain a Secret DoD clearance
• Bachelor's Degree in a computer science, computer engineering, or a related field
• Three (3) years of software development experience
• Strong working knowledge of Java programming and knowledgeable of C programming
• Working knowledge of probability and statistics, linear algebra, and multivariate calculus. Preferred Knowledge and Experience:
• Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field
• Eight (8) years of software engineering experience
• Engineering experience specifically with undersea warfare systems and/or Navy training range systems
• NUWC Division Newport specific experience Software Developer:
• Research and analyze sonar signal processing and underwater acoustics including detection techniques and (tracking) localization algorithms.
• Program and develop undersea warfare (USW) systems and elements to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
• Work with sensor data from acoustic, sonar, and other undersea tracking devices to build integrated systems.
• Design and optimize algorithms for real-time data processing, tracking, and predictive modeling.
