Purpose: Kinetics Noise Control, Inc. is seeking a motivated Junior Software Developer to maintain and enhance our suite of custom applications developed using VB.NET, ASP.NET, JavaScript and MySQL. The ideal candidate will collaborate with our engineering team to support and improve existing software, assist in developing new analysis tools for mechanical and structural engineering applications, and contribute to our AI task force exploring AI integration into engineering workflows. This is a full-time, on-site position at our headquarters in Dublin, OH.
Primary Responsibilities: - Maintain, debug, and enhance existing in-house software applications using VB.NET, ASP.Net, JavaScript and MySQL.
- Implement enhancement requests and ensure the stability of current systems.
- Work closely with end users to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and improve functionality.
Secondary Responsibilities: - Collaborate with mechanical and structural engineers to develop new engineering analysis tools.
- Translate engineering algorithms into functional software applications.
Tertiary Responsibilities: - Participate in the AI task force to evaluate and integrate AI tools into engineering processes.
- Stay updated on emerging AI technologies and their potential applications in software development and engineering.
Essential Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience in software development.
- Hands-on experience with VB.NET and WinForms development.
- Proficiency in MySQL or SQLServer, including query writing and database schema maintenance.
- Basic understanding of ASP.NET, JavaScript, and HTML is a must.
- Familiarity with engineering concepts is a plus but not required.
Skills and Competencies: - Strong problem-solving and debugging abilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineers and management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming principles.
- Experience with AI tools or a willingness to learn is a plus.
