Immediate Opening: We are seeking a Mid-Level Software Development Engineer to provide Agile DevOps support for mission-critical systems within our cybersecurity program. This role allows you to build robust systems and software utilizing cloud capabilities and gain experience in Agile development.
Responsibilities:
  • Design & Develop: Contribute to software programming initiatives using JavaScript, Java, and/or Python to drive innovation and enhance system capabilities.
  • Test & Validate: Execute software system validation and testing methods using Junit and Katalon.
  • Automate & Deploy: Create software solutions that leverage automated deployment technologies and develop prototypes within commercial cloud solutions.
  • Integrate: Collaborate closely with developers to integrate solutions within the existing infrastructure.
  • Performance Monitoring: Gather and compile metrics for monthly and quarterly reviews to assess system performance.
  • Troubleshoot & Resolve: Address installation, data flow, and log ingestion issues in development and production environments.
  • Manage & Administer: Perform daily management tasks for deployed software environments and application clusters.
  • Agile Collaboration: Participate in sprint planning and user story estimation while contributing to design and architectural decisions.
  • DevSecOps Engagement: Engage in automated CI/CD processes and participate in design reviews to ensure secure development.
  • User Experience: Create mockups and wireframes to visualize features and user experiences.
  • Code Quality: Conduct peer reviews to maintain high standards of code quality and project documentation.
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with 2-4 years of experience, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Proficient in JavaScript; additional experience with Java, Python, and/or Bash is desired.
  • Experience with Linux OS scripting and database integration (relational and NoSQL).
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure platforms (AWS, Azure) and DevOps tools (Ansible, Docker, Jenkins).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of software design patterns and experience working in Agile teams.
  • Proficiency with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence) for project management.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and ideally local to the DC/Maryland/Virginia area.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in identity management and governance concepts (single sign-on, identity federation).
  • Familiarity with web development frameworks (React, Redux).
  • Expertise in using analytics tools (Elasticsearch, Splunk) and creating interactive visualizations.
  • Knowledge of ICAM concepts/standards (LDAP, PKI, OAuth 2.0, SAML, MFA).
