Job Description:

• The Fleet Tracking and Telematics team is looking for a software development engineer who can supplement our team. This role will be responsible for developing Kotlin or Typescript applications that will be deployed to GreenGrass V2 for a new hardware system being developed.
• Understanding of GreenGrass and hardware is preferred but not required. You will be working alongside product managers, software engineers and hardware engineers on the team.
• Primary responsibilities will be designing, developing, debugging, reviewing and testing software applications.
• They must be detail oriented, have superior verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills and are able to work independently. Preferred coding skills: Java/Kotlin or Typescript.
• Other desired technical skills include the client's CDK, linux, GreenGrassV2, MQTT, IoT communication.
• A Computer Science or equivalent technical degree and 2-5 years of relevant experience is required.

Typical Day in the Role:

• Daily Schedule: M-F 9am-5pm

Candidate Requirements:

Basic qualifications:

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language Preferred qualifications
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Skills or knowledge to write firmware code, debug and diagnose firmware issues and propose and enhance device firmware.
• Experience with GreenGrass or other edge compute tools
