Job Description: The Content Platform team is looking for a Software Development Engineer who will act as first level support and development for all incoming production software application issues dealing with merchandising applications. Your solutions will impact our customers directly.

We're looking for a Software Development Engineer II for the Same Day Delivery Experience team to help ensure we have a compelling and friction-free 'delivery in hours' experience available to our customers, and help drive continuous innovation and improvement of the delivery experience across all phases of shopping, buying, and post purchase experience.
Primary responsibilities include: - Build highly extensible software systems to meet the rapid growth of client's delivery business and capabilities.
- Evolve and build services that are highly reliable and extremely low latency
- Design the direction of the checkout delivery experience working with multiple, different teams across the company
- Build the next generation systems for representing delivery choices to enable rapid experimentation in the area of User Experience
- Developing monitoring solutions, troubleshooting/debugging and implementing the fix for internally developed code (Perl, C/C , JAVA), performing SQL queries, improving our systems that gather metrics on our features, updating, tracking and resolving technical challenges.
- Responsibilities also include working alongside development on client Corporate and Divisional Software projects, updating/enhancing our current software, automation of support processes and documentation of our systems.
Job Qualifications: - The ideal candidate is interested in a career in software development and is looking to utilize and expand their coding skills and gain exposure to a wide variety of software applications.
- They must be detail oriented, have superior verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, are able to work independently and can maintain professionalism under pressure.
- Preferred coding skills: Perl, C/C and/or Java.
- Other desired technical skills include Mason, Perl CGI, Oracle SQL, HTML, UNIX/LINUX.
- A Computer Science or equivalent technical degree and 2-5 years of relevant experience is required.
Interaction with Team: - Collaborative - working with immediate team as well as support teams as needed for progress.
Typical Task Breakdown: - Supporting post check out space for same day experience - helping in operational side of things to close operational debt while working alongside external teams to get alignment, metrics and dashboards set up.
