Software Design Engineer 3 with Security Clearance

Torch Technologies is seeking a Software Design Engineer 3 to fill an immediate opening. The ideal candidate will have experience/expertise with electro-optical and infrared data analysis (EO/IR), image processing, and uncertainty analysis. The Software Design Engineer will be responsible for the analysis, interpretation, and algorithm development to support data reduction from customer test events. A well-suited candidate will be self-motivated, with demonstrated communication skills (oral and written) and capable of working both in a small team and unsupervised. Key Responsibilities: Analyze EO/IR sensor data, including target detection, tracking, filtering, and signature analysis. Perform sensor data fusion and uncertainty analysis. Support multi-spectral sensor calibration and characterization. Analyze algorithms and their interaction to improve performance. Interpret data, identifying trends, and analyze results using statistical techniques. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or similar). 5+ years of experience in EO/IR data analysis, image processing, and statistical analysis, including proficiency with data processing tools such as MATLAB, Python, R, Java, or similar. Strong analytical, computational, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance is required.
