Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Software Configuration Manager to support a critical program for Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration in Washington, D.C. The team is seeking an experienced configuration manager to conduct analysis and provide recommendations for configuration tools, as well as work with a team to design, develop, test, implement, and maintain the tools to optimize the infrastructure. Applications for this job will be accepted for at least 30 days from the posting date Responsibilities of the Configuration Manager: Administer, monitor, and maintain software infrastructures and applications.
Analyze software, hardware, and database designs for inclusion in the technical baseline.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for hardware, software, and databases, including traceability matrices, APIs, designs, test reports, security documents, POA&Ms, user guides, admin guides, and training materials.
Manage a primary source repository with replication for COOP for all production configurations.
Conduct audits, inventories, and assessments of software, documentation, and configurations to meet cybersecurity requirements, in coordination with cyber teams.
Revalidate technology annually or as needed with users and engineering to ensure it meets requirements.
Implement configuration management (CM) discipline throughout the system lifecycle, from initial baselines to system end-of-life.
Create and maintain configuration baselines (development, test, production, etc.).
Perform change control and configuration audits.
Develop, review, and maintain a configuration management plan for all aspects of the software lifecycle.
Provide guidance and leadership in configuration management.
Collaborate with the configuration management team to ensure release integrity in multi-stage environments.
Track and report on software releases through change requests, impact assessments, and version control.
Establish a documentation repository to track and maintain records.
Lead software and code reviews and ensure the configuration management plan is executed. Qualifications of the Configuration Manager: Active Top Secret and/or DOE Q clearance Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline and 10+ years of prior relevant experience
Experience with technical baseline configurations for enterprise COOP, version control, and baseline management Experience with configuration management tools (i.e. Puppet, Chef, Ansible)
Experience and familiarity with software continuous integration and deployments (CI/CD) Experience maintaining documentation such as APIs, POA&Ms, user guides, and security documentation Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) Compensation of the Configuration Manager: Total compensation based on experience level - $140,000 - $160,000+ based on experience level Full Benefits: PTO, 11 Paid Holidays, Sick Leave as required by state law, Medical, Dental, and Vision, 401k with ADP Long-term program (3.5 years remaining)
