Software Asset Manager (Sam Pro)Role Type: W2 contract, No C2C
Work Authorization: USC/GC candidates only.
Schedule: Remote for the first year and then Hybrid in one of the corporate locations.
Location: Denver, Colorado, Minneapolis, Minnesota
W2 Contract: 12 months and possibility of converting to FTE.

Job Summary:The SAM Pro Asset Manager is responsible for overseeing the lifecycle of software assets within the organization. This includes tracking software inventory, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements, and implementing optimization strategies to reduce cost and risk. The role requires strong knowledge of software licensing models, audit preparation, and software asset management tools (e.g., ServiceNow SAM Pro, Flexera, Snow, etc.).
Key Responsibilities: - Manage end-to-end lifecycle of software assets from procurement to retirement.
- Administer and configure ServiceNow SAM Pro to track, manage, and optimize software assets.
- Maintain accurate records of licenses, usage, and entitlements in the SAM Pro tool.
- 80% asset management/ 20% financial backend processing.
- Conduct regular software audits to ensure compliance with vendor agreements (e.g., Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle).
- Analyze usage data to identify underused or unused software for re-harvesting opportunities.
- Collaborate with procurement and legal to negotiate software licensing terms and support contract renewals.
- Provide reports and dashboards to stakeholders on software spend, compliance risks, and optimization opportunities.
- Ensure alignment with ITIL and ITAM best practices.
- Stay current with evolving software licensing models and vendor compliance policies.
Qualifications: - 1+ years of experience in specific experience using ServiceNow SAM Pro.
- 5+ years of experience utilizing software asset management tools.
- 2+ years of experience using SAP.
- Strong understanding of software licensing for major vendors (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Adobe).
- Experience with ITAM/SAM tools and data normalization.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- ITIL and/or CSAM (Certified Software Asset Manager) certification preferred.
Preferred Skills: - Experience with software discovery tools and integrations.
- Ability to interpret and explain complex licensing terms.
- Project management experience for SAM initiatives.
- Knowledge of cloud licensing (e.g., SaaS, IaaS, PaaS models).
