Software Application Engineer - Construction - Base Salary to 80k/year - Houston, TX

Our client, a software company, is in the field of productivity optimization using process-oriented tool management for manufacturing companies. They are currently looking for a Software Application Engineer to join their team.
In this position, the Software Application Engineer will be the primary technical contact for prospects and customers from the beginning of the sales process through closing. Once prospects are customers, the Software Application Engineer will provide guidance during the project, assist with installing the software, conduct online and on-site training, as well as provide ongoing online support.

Responsibilities:

1st level online support
Technical support for software maintenance customers
Software installation and customer training on site
Sales support through demos and presentations, and customer support through implementation
Willingness to travel approx. 50% (trips within North America)
Preparation / tracing of errors (bugs) for software programming
Testing of software releases (user tests)
Assistance in the creation of training manuals for software modules and software inter-faces

Qualifications:

Experience as a software technician and in 1st level support (ideally in a technical software application environment)
Experience in dealing with databases (MS SQL Server)
Understanding of technical relationships (ideally in CNC production, tools, CAD / CAM, etc.)
