Job Title: Software Analyst

Location: Sparks, MD

Contract Term: 7+ Months

Weekly 40.00 Hours Mon - Fri

Description:

Software Analyst to be part BD Diagnostic Systems' product development team. BD Diagnostic Systems is a global leader of products and instruments used for diagnosing infectious diseases. Our products are used in the clinical market to screen for microbial presence, grow and identify organisms, and test for antibiotic susceptibility.

This role is focused on supporting the development of a new, large-scale laboratory diagnostic instrument. The instrument's operational needs are already well-defined and program goals are set. The analyst will be responsible for assuring:

Requirements are sufficiently detailed and consistent with program goals,

Any missing requirement is identified and refined.

Requirements are broken down sufficiently into backlog items to be consumed by the development team,

In collaboration with the product owner, program milestones are reflected in the priority and content of the individual backlog items,

The development team clearly understands each backlog item,

In collaboration with the software architect and technical leads, backlog items are implementable and consistent with the design of the system,

Acceptance criteria are clear and unambiguous for both the development team and validation team, and

Options for simplification and scope change are quickly and adequately reviewed and dispositioned.

A successful candidate must work in an agile software development environment, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, work both independently and collaboratively, influence others, and drive action items to completion.

A portfolio or samples of prior work strongly desired.

Qualifications

BS degree in Computer Science, Business Analysis, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering or a related discipline

Minimum 3 years of experience in molecular biology or analytical systems of similar complexity

Minimum of 5 years of relevant regulated industry experience

Knowledge and Skills

Experience with software and systems development lifecycles

Experience in Agile Scrum software development processes preferred

Previous design control experience in a regulated environment preferred

Experience utilizing a requirements management software tool is preferred

Medical device or medical laboratory experience is a plus

Electro-mechanical systems experience is a plus
