Durham County Council is looking for a Senior Practitioner to join our Children in Care Team 3-supporting children aged 0-16 who are cared for by the local authority. About the Role:
As a Senior Practitioner, you will:
- Work with children in care aged 0-16, building meaningful relationships to support their stability and wellbeing.
- Provide expert case oversight and guidance, supporting team members with complex casework and decision-making.
- Carry a caseload of approximately 25 children, most of whom are based within the Durham and North East region.
- Attend the office in Seaham at least twice a week for duty cover, team meetings, and Stop the Clock development days.
What We're Looking For:
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
- Substantial experience in children's social care, ideally within a children in care or looked-after children team.
- In-depth knowledge of Children in Care legislation, procedures, and policies.
- Strong communication, supervision, and assessment skills, with a commitment to achieving the best outcomes for children.
