Description

1. SCOPE:
Sales Manager position is responsible for growth of the hotels wedding market share, including
meeting or exceeding established goals for revenue, occupancy, ADR and RevPAR. This
position reports to the Director of Sales.
The position manages all areas of sales and marketing for the hotel in accordance with the
hotels franchise and Leisure Hotels & Resorts standards. Maintains a professional rapport
within the community for the hotel and provides an exemplary disposition and
performance for fellow staff to follow.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Profit
Management
1. Develop and maintain growth in market share and meet or exceed established goals
for the hotels revenue, occupancy, ADR and RevPAR.
2. Contributes assistance in preparation for rate establishment, sales and marketing
plans and departmental budgets.
3. Analyzes and understands competitions strengths and weaknesses and their top
accounts, including the decision makers for each, their rates and what it will take to
move their business.
4. Identifies and cultivates major revenue opportunities / key accounts for the general
market and for the hotel specifically.
5. Forecasts occupancy fluctuations and directs selling activities to maximize revenue.
Marketing and Sales Management
1. Assists in designing and implementing (with the General Manager, Director of Sales
and the Home Office) marketing and sales activities, advertising, blitzes, direct
mail/email campaigns, public relations and promotional programs appropriate for
hotel to increase revenue, as established in the hotels 90 Day Sales Plan.
2. Actively sells hotel as being ideal for extended stays, other room night needs and for
meeting facility usages through penetrating and saturating prospective and existing
customer base for effective multi-department selling or referrals, by outside sales
efforts, telemarketing campaigns, networking and qualifying in-house guests by
welcoming groups, visiting with and acknowledging guests during their arrival /
departure, during breakfast and social hours, etc to gain additional business and
referrals.
3. Take initiative to cultivate all lead sources to generate new and incremental business
- this is a hunter position.
4. Rigorously qualify and follow up on leads and prospects gained from cold calls,
telemarketing campaigns, sales blitzes, National Sales Team and other sources in a
timely manner.
5. Actively and visibly participate in the local community events, industry and service
organizations, Chamber of commerce and convention/visitors bureau meetings and
join any respective committees available.
6. Maintain ACT, complete monthly sales reports and submit to General Manager.
Complete and submit Month End Sales Reports to General Manager and Corporate
Office.
Guest Services
1. Supports guest services as the driving philosophy of the hotel and believes in
making every guest and potential guest satisfied.
2. Supports hotel guest satisfaction measures and contributes to the delivery of
consistent guest services.
3. Demonstrates commitment to guest services by responding personally to
guests needs, when so encountered.
