24 Seven is partnering with a local company based in Portland, OR to help them find a Social Media Specialist to join their team in this hybrid position. This is a 3-6 month contract with potential to extend working 2-3 days/week onsite, 30 hours/weekly. While on contract, you'd be eligible for benefits including medical, dental, vision, sick hours and more.


Ideal Candidate: will have 2-4 years of relevant work experience.


The focus of this role is to bring fresh ideas to social media content, helping to implement innovative strategies for upcoming projects rather than making editorial decisions. We're looking for a creative thinker who can contribute dynamic concepts and execute engaging content across platforms.


Responsibilities:

  • Create, edit, and publish original content across social media, blogs, emails, and websites.
  • Engage with audiences by monitoring and responding to social media comments as appropriate.
  • Conduct social media listening across all company platforms (including Reddit and Nextdoor) and alert the team to relevant discussions, news, controversies, or user-generated content that may require engagement or an official response.
  • Interact with posts mentioning or tagging the company by liking or commenting as needed.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers and videographers to develop engaging visuals and video content for social media.
  • Travel throughout the tri-county area to capture photos, videos, and audio for social media content.
  • Produce vertical video content such as interviews, b-roll footage, and scripted segments using an iPhone, gimbal, and GoPro.
  • Develop, plan, and execute original email content, including contests, giveaways, promotions, and surveys.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance engagement and reach through original content that aligns with business goals and supports customers. Stay informed about competitor and industry social media trends to share insights and ideas with the team.
