Overview:
We're a boutique creative agency supporting a fast-growing Middle Eastern quick-serve restaurant in Paterson, NJ. We're looking for a culturally fluent, visually creative Social Media Manager to lead the brand's Instagram and TikTok content strategy - someone who understands how to create scroll-stopping food content with consistency and heart.
This is a hands-on role where you'll collaborate with our internal content creator and project manager, taking raw content and turning it into engaging weekly posts and storylines that speak to a loyal, hungry audience.
Responsibilities:
- Create and manage monthly content calendars (3-4 posts per week + stories)
- Write on-brand captions with occasional use of Arabic food terms or cultural references
- Select and organize content from Dropbox libraries for use in posts and stories
- Collaborate with photographer/videographer and shoot assistant (remotely or on-site)
- Post consistently via Meta Business Suite and monitor basic engagement (likes, DMs, etc.)
- Attend occasional shoots if local (nice-to-have, not required)
Ideal Candidate:
- 2-3+ years of social media experience (restaurant or food brand preferred)
- Strong copywriting skills with visual taste - you can see the post before it's made
- Familiarity or fluency in Middle Eastern or Mediterranean cuisine and culture
- Independent, detail-oriented, and creative - can follow a brief and add ideas
- Based in NJ or NYC metro area preferred (shoots take place in Paterson, NJ)
Bonus Points If You:
- Speak Arabic or have roots in Levantine or North African food culture
- Have personal or client-side experience creating for foodie, lifestyle, or hospitality brands
- Are comfortable editing basic Reels or guiding shot angles/crop with a content creator
