Zumiez is looking for a creative, strategic, data-driven, and customer-centric Social Media Manager to lead the evolution of our social presence. This role will be central in shaping and scaling how Zumiez shows up across social platforms - amplifying our brand voice, listening to and leveraging customer and employee voices, and turning engagement into meaningful growth.

Our next Social Media Manager will be instrumental in scaling the impact of our stores by elevating employee-generated content and using it to spark connection, drive culture, and build community at both local and national levels.

You'll be accountable for strategy and execution across all social channels with a focus on increasing brand relevance, deepening customer connection, and driving revenue through a mix of paid social, co-op brand partnerships, affiliate programs, and social commerce.

Key Responsibilities:
•  Influence the communication of Zumiez's brand voice across all social platforms, ensuring consistency and authenticity in how we connect with our customers.
•  Content creation that is aligned with Zumiez Brand Values, increases engagement, and drives customers to our stores, website, and app.
•  Grow and engage our social community by understanding platform dynamics, interpreting customer behavior, and creating content that resonates with core and emerging audiences.
•  Collaborate cross-functionally with digital marketing, merchandising, brand marketing, store teams, and brand partners to align social campaigns with broader business goals.
•  Use customer data and audience insights to inform content decisions, optimize creative, and develop platform-specific strategies that drive engagement, community, and sales.
•  Manage and scale paid social campaigns, with an emphasis on performance, brand impact, and ROI.
•  Partner with our brand vendors on co-op opportunities, building social-first sponsorships and activations that deliver value for both sides.
•  Own our organic affiliate and ambassador programs, focused on empowering Zumiez store teams and connecting with authentic creators across social media platforms.
•  Collaborate with retail leaders to amplify the employee voice, showcasing our store culture and the people behind the brand.
•  Ensure social media strategies support both short- and long-term SEO goals and contribute to a cohesive, holistic digital marketing strategy.
•  Stay ahead of trends, social platform updates, and youth culture movements to ensure Zumiez is always where the customer is - and speaking their language.
•  Create strategies that leverage social media channels to support Zumiez business initiatives (Zumiez App, Loyalty Programs, and more). Requirements & Qualifications:
•  4+ years experience managing social strategy and execution for a consumer brand or agency.
•  Proven ability to grow engaged audiences, develop high-performing content, and lead social strategies that deliver business results.
•  Experience with paid social campaign management (Meta, TikTok, Snap, etc.), from media planning to creative optimization.
•  Strong understanding of influencer, ambassador, and affiliate programs, with hands-on experience building community-led initiatives.
•  Ability to interpret data, test hypotheses, and translate insights into action.
•  Natural storyteller with excellent communication and copy writing skills.
•  Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
•  Proficient at shooting, editing, and distributing video and photo content across digital channels.
•  Ability and willingness to self-start, prioritize needs, and motivate team members in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
•  High attention to detail and organized.
•  Comfortable with public speaking and able to present channel results and strategies at an executive level.
•  Experience with digital analytics platforms/tools. Bonus Points For:
•  Adobe Creative and Microsoft suite proficiency.
•  Familiarity with social commerce features (Instagram Shop, TikTok Shop, etc.)
