How You Will Make an impact The Social Media Internship will assist in crafting daily content, monitoring conversations and trends, reporting on analytics and engagement, and exploring new formats and tools to grow our audience and amplify the brand. This position will offer hands-on experience in content creation, community engagement, campaign planning across major social media channels such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X (formerly Twitter). The role is ideal for individuals who are creative, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic about digital communication and emerging social trends. This position reports to the Director, Public Relations or designee.

Contribute to the department's three strategic initiatives including:
- Brand: Implement fun and engaging content across all social channels that highlights our key differences, expands our reach, appeals to students, and helps further engage with existing audiences.
- Local: Increase media coverage and social media engagement for local school programs and events. Increase positive sentiment in media coverageand social media conversations.
- Internal: Boost employee engagement on social media channels. Create social media campaigns to inspire staff to follow and engage on our brand platforms to increase the reach and visibility of our posted content.
- Assist team in creating content on brand for all social channels including Instagram, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and X
- Collaborate closely with the social team on planning its content calendar across brand social channels.
- Learn how to work with social insight tools to keep a close eye on content and be aware of what is performing (or what is not) and how to optimize.
- Help in creating recap reports.
- Perform administrative duties, responsibilities, and activities as assigned, which may be changed or modified from time to time.
QualificationsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES - Knowledge of all social media platforms and how to optimize views and engagement on each
- Ability to identify trends in social media and capitalize on them in a timely manner.
- Display a working knowledge of social media engagement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
- Familiarity with major social media platforms and basic tools.
- Creative thinker with an eye for detail and design.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient level of skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other technology applications.
- Ability to travel in performance of job duties required.
