Shift: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Flexible Hybrid work schedule

Location: 1200 North 7th street, Harrisburg, PA.

The Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) is seeking a creative, confident, and self-motivated Social Media Intern/Content Creator to help us engage students through short-form, influencer-style content. This position is perfect for a college student who's already managing social content for their campus or building a strong personal following and wants to gain real-world experience while helping fellow students access financial aid and plan for higher education.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and create social media content, focusing on short-form video and a target of 3-5 posts per week

• Represent PHEAA's tone and brand on camera in an authentic, engaging way

• Stay up to date with social media trends and best practices to ensure content remains fresh and relevant

• Collaborate with the Marketing Team to brainstorm and develop creative ideas for social media campaigns

• Pitch content ideas that speak to student life, college prep, and financial wellness

• Work independently in a hybrid environment with flexible scheduling

• Monitor performance and adjust based on engagement and audience feedback

Required Skills

High School Diploma and currently pursing a degree in Marketing, Communication, Public Relations, or a related field.

• Strong understanding of social medial platforms and content best practices.

• Strong writing, communication, and creative thinking skills.

• Effective time management, organization, and prioritization

Preferred Skills:

• Current undergraduate student with passion for social media marketing and storytelling

• Experience creating or managing content for a campus-affiliated social account

• Consistent, high-quality presence on your own social platforms

• Comfortable on camera and confident in your communication skills

• Knowledge of trends, reels, and editing tools like CapCut, Canva, or Adobe

• Ability to work independently and meet content goals with minimal oversight

Bonus Skills:

• Interest in education access, scholarships, or student support services

• Familiarity with analytics and basic social media metrics

• Portfolio or links to past content (personal or professional)
