Are you a compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with additional needs?

We are seeking a dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a warm and inclusive primary school in Birmingham, supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs (SEN). This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children who benefit from extra support to thrive both academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with additional needs, including those with autism, ADHD, Autism, speech and language difficulties, and other learning challenges.
  • Work closely with the SENCO, class teachers, and external professionals to implement personalised learning plans and strategies.
  • Support the development of pupils' social skills, emotional wellbeing, and independence.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, contributing to reviews and reports.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • A minimum of 6 months experience working in a UK primary school.
  • Experience working with children with additional needs in a school or similar setting.
  • A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach to supporting learning and behaviour.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for making education accessible and enjoyable for all learners.

Desirable:

  • Experience with PECS, Makaton, or other communication systems.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
