Our client is looking to fill a SME Test Engineer position that just opened in Huntsville, AL. In this role, you'll be responsible for testing know-how for the support of user requirements of complex to highly complex software/hardware applications and will direct and/or participate in all phases of risk management assessments and software/hardware development with emphasis on analysis of user requirements, test design, and test tools selection. To be considered, you will have to have a bachelor's degree in related field or in lieu of degree, 4 additional years of experience. Location: Huntsville, AL (must live local to)

Direct hire: Salary range $145k - $160K or DOE
Clearance: Must have Top Secret to start with being SCI eligible
Citizenship: All candidates must be US Citizen Duties and Tasks:
The Test Engineer will be a subject matter expert and will be responsible for creating software test and automating test cases, performing application testing, validating bugs, and isolating issues; writing and initiating tests and then analyzing and reporting the test results in the ticketing system; and performing configuration management, change management, and release management. The candidate will design, implement, and conduct test and evaluation procedures to ensure system requirements are met and develop, maintain, and upgrade automated test scripts and architectures for application products. The ideal candidate will also write, implement, and report status for system test cases for testing and analyze test cases and provide regular progress reports. The Test Engineer SME will provide testing know-how for the support of user requirements of complex to highly complex software/hardware applications and will direct and/or participate in all phases of risk management assessments and software/hardware development with emphasis on analysis of user requirements, test design, and test tools selection. The SME will review test plans and test reports for technical competence, effectiveness, and compliance with standards. The successful candidate will observe and evaluate the execution of customer acceptance test activities, perform integration activities involving developed application software, and identify and document problems and issues providing specific guidance on root-cause and remediation. The Test Engineer SME will also be responsible for analyzing the requirements for each test event and shall assist in the scheduling of the System(s) non-operational environments test assets. Qualifications:
Active Top Secret Clearance/with SCI eligibility
At least ten (10+) years of test engineering experience
Experience with Confluence, Jira, and similar tools
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency with testing tools
Robust decision-making skills
