We are looking for a strategic and results driven Sales Director to lead our sales team in the South-Mid Atlantic territory. The ideal candidate will be a highly trusted individual who builds, maintains and expects high standards for self and the team. The candidate must have a solid business acumen which appropriately balances creativity, relationship building and reporting skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and lead regional sales personnel to meet assigned goals and targets.
- Assign and maintain optimal sales coverage for the region by instituting geographic sales coverage.
- Review with sales on weekly / quarterly / and yearly basis their KPI achievements.
- Oversee execution of weekly sales calls and activities. Engage in outside sales calls or joint calls with Sales Executives.
- Monitor team performance and provide coaching and training to improve effectiveness to reach KPI standards.
- Conduct annual reviews for employees including Inside Sales Reps.
- Proactively find new ways to build and grow relationships with key customers.
- Pursue additional business development opportunities within customer firms.
- Identify issues or concerns to management and recommend solutions.
- Assess customer needs and recommend solutions to optimize value for both the customer and the Company.
Reporting Processes:
- Weekly meetings with sales to review KPI achievements, sales calls, and a/c base.
- Weekly meeting with trade PIC to coordinate focus points and lacking loop performance.
- Weekly, quarterly, and yearly review report with individual salesperson to ensure they achieve KPI.
- TPEB reporting as requested by HQ on account activity, lifting and s/c progress.
- TPEB major account reporting on lifting for specified accounts.
- Regular review and meetings between sales and trade departments to review all export business issues and KPI's.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience in Ocean Carrier industry required, prefer 10 years.
- Familiarity with South-Mid Atlantic region.
- Knowledge of all facets of ocean shipping and selling service.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with CRM and MS Office suite.
The candidate should be domiciled in the Atlanta, GA area. Must travel regularly to Charlotte, NC.
