Position Summary:
The Cook is responsible for preparing meals and following set recipes. Duties include preparing ingredients, adhering to the restaurant menu, and following food health and safety procedures. Work may include operating a grill, oven, and fryer.
Essential Functions:
1. Responsible for redefining hospitality at Graton Resort & Casino while living, supporting, and promoting our values.
2. Set up, clean up and organize workstations.
3. Prepare ingredients for shift based on established par levels, wash vegetables, chop, and season meats.
4. Prepare oven, utensils, and grill for shift.
5. Cook orders according to food and health safety standards.
6. Handle multiple food orders at one time.
7. Deliver food order to wait staff in a timely manner.
8. Properly store all prepared food and assist in storing vendor deliveries and rotating inventory as needed.
9. Sanitize and clean workstations and utensils.
10. Assist other cooks in preparing food.
Required Qualifications:
1. Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
2. Minimum of one (1) year culinary experience.
3. Must be able to obtain a gaming license from the Graton Gaming Commission.
4. Must possess or obtain a California Food Handler Certification.
5. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
6. Ability to handle a flexible schedule and work weekends, holidays, and all shifts.
7. Must be at least 18 years of age.
Physical Requirements:
1. Requires hand/eye coordination and the normal sense of smell, taste, touch and sound.
2. Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds, push 150-250 pounds on a pushcart, in/out of walk-ins of -10 degrees to 140 degrees with or without assistance.
3. Requires the physical ability to stand for long periods of time, walk frequently, bend or reach to a height of six feet with or without assistance.
Work Conditions:
Work is typically in an area, which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, and may contain secondhand smoke. Work may be performed in small areas with a 3 ft. wide access. Tasks performed from a sitting or non-sitting position. Performance of job duties will require standing, walking, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and grasping. These tasks include the maintenance and care of assigned area. Work may entail trained chemical usage. Constant contact with fellow Team Members and Guests.
