Sleep Lab Medical Director Physician CaroMont Health Qualifications: North Carolina Medical License and CaroMont Regional Medical Center Medical Staff membership in good standing. Specialty-specific board certification and actively caring for patients. Prior formal medical leadership position(s) strongly preferred. competencies: Provide overall clinical direction and supervision to the CaroMont Health Sleep Medicine Program including the Sleep Lab and staff. Interpret, propose, and advise the Sleep Lab team on applicable medical guidelines, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Assist with and participate in implementation measures and reasonable and appropriate processes to ensure compliance of the Sleep Medicine Program including the Sleep Lab and staff. These include: Provides oversight and communication with Sleep Lab leadership to ensure that services are ordered by a licensed healthcare professional, and services provided by qualified medical and technical personnel. Responsible for supervision and oversight of Sleep Medicine Program staff. Provides direct and ongoing oversight of testing protocols and the quality of testing, including the proper operation and calibration of the equipment. Responsible for ensuring staff comply with the Code of Medical Ethics and other ethical requirements. Provide medical guidance over sleep procedures and patient assessments. Including but not limited to being available for consultation by the Sleep Lab, directing testing procedures including advanced testing, and providing guidance when other medical services are indicated. Advise, participate in, and attend various Hospital medical staff committees, particularly those relevant to the practice of sleep medicine. Will be board-certified in sleep medicine by the American Board of Medical Specialties and maintain certification in good standing. Participate in the development of the Facility Quality Assurance Program to include the criteria required by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine certification and provide continued oversight and guidance of quality measures and performance improvement measures. Includes establishing annual sleep metrics in partnership with Sleep Lab and organizational leadership and partnership to ensure the department meets the established quality goals. Participate in special projects as reasonably required by the Sleep Medicine Program and Sleep Lab to improve patient care. Adequately complete all documentation in a manner that supports various levels of care and is sufficient to meet all regulatory and accreditation guidelines. Provide direct patient care as necessary, along with oversight and guidance for the continued operation of the Sleep Medicine Program and Sleep Lab. Job Summary: Sleep Medicine Program - Medical Director Physician plays a crucial role in overseeing the quality of care, patient experience, medical leadership, and economic performance to enhance population health for the Service Line. As a member of the Physician Executive Council and physician leader of CaroMont Health Clinically Integrated Network, they collaborate with the Cardiovascular Pulmonary Medicine Service Line Administrator and Sleep Medicine Program Sleep Lab leaders to develop and implement strategies supporting CaroMont Health and CaroMont Medical Group. These strategies aim to enhance the outpatient experience, collaborate with community partners, drive program growth, improve efficiencies, and ensure service line quality. The Sleep Medicine Program Director is responsible for fostering effective two-way communication within the Service Line and is expected to dedicate administrative hours per week to fulfill their duties.
