MEP Superintendent - Healthcare Construction
Location: Austin, TX
A leading general contractor in Austin, TX is looking for an experienced MEP Superintendent with a strong background in healthcare construction. This role will oversee mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on complex healthcare projects, ensuring high-quality execution and compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee MEP systems installation on ground-up and renovation healthcare projects from preconstruction to closeout.
- Coordinate with trade partners, engineers, and project teams to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, infection control measures, and life safety codes.
- Conduct quality control inspections and manage testing and commissioning of all MEP systems.
- Monitor and enforce safety protocols specific to MEP work in healthcare environments.
- Assist in project scheduling, ensuring MEP milestones are met on time.
- Address technical challenges and work closely with subcontractors to troubleshoot issues.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, inspectors, and facility representatives.
Qualifications:
- 8 years of experience as an MEP Superintendent in healthcare construction.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and medical gas systems.
- Experience working in active healthcare facilities and OSHPD/Joint Commission compliance.
- Proficient in Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction management software.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to coordinate between multiple stakeholders.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
