Akkodis is seeking a Site Sourcing Specialist for a 12-month onsite contract job with a client in Duncan, SC. You will participate in, or lead, special projects related to the Sourcing function such as management of site-specific commodities, documentation and compliance management, resourcing activities and/or supplier rationalization activities. You will be the interface between the Duncan, SC site and the regional commodity teams and is the first level escalation point for issues from Supply Chain involving suppliers. Generally, you will handle issues outside of the Company's formal project phases, but it may, from time to time, intersect with project related activities. The work environment is project oriented and in a production environment that is low volume and high mix. This role will add value to the company by facilitating communication in and out of the Sourcing and Supply Chain Groups and handling site specific sourcing issues that may involve cost reductions, business process improvements and/or compliance related issues.



Rate Range: $40.00/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.


Site Sourcing Specialist job responsibilities include:


• Monitor direct material variances to inform finance and bid and proposal teams.


• Enter and maintain sourcing rules/parameters in the ERP system.


• Participate in identifying productivity actions with site sourcing management and bring back information to the regional commodity teams.


• Provide inputs on site needs through frequent contact with users.


• Obtain samples and coordinate APQP/PPAP qualification process with quality and engineering.


• Assist in material changeover activities when supplier resourcing or rationalization is done.


• Provide site level documentation to the regional commodity teams (e.g., engineering drawings, specifications, quality requirements, etc.).


• Request and then review, with site sourcing management, the company fixed asset report on a monthly basis.


• Assist with documentation projects for business process improvements and site compliance.


• Be the first level escalation point to assist Supply Chain Group with supplier related issues.


• Manage invoice discrepancies, engineering change requests, claims and chargebacks.


• Manage site-specific commodities and services when assigned that may involve RFI/RFQ and supplier qualification activities.



Desired Qualifications:


• High school graduate or General Education Degree required. Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Economics or Finance preferred.


• Three to five years manufacturing, transportation or heavy construction industry experience. Two to four years of purchasing experience.


• Ability to work unsupervised. Ability to work on, and manage, cross functional teams.


• Ability to present information clearly and tailor it for a variety of audiences.


• Strategic and creative thinking to analyze issues that may arise and create solutions.


• Ability to respond positively to feedback and recommend changes in process and procedures as needed. Ability to communicate with internal and external parties with tact and diplomacy.


• Familiarity with the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), import and export laws, incoterms, exchange rates and methodologies used in project management, material planning and quality.


• Ability to use a personal computer and standard Microsoft Office software at an intermediate level (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) Familiarity with large ERP systems (Oracle, JD Edwards, SAP, Baan). Familiarity with ERP report out software/tools (Crystal reports, Power BI).


• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple issues at once.


• Ability to work in an ISO/IRIS quality system environment.


• Employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.


• Employee is regularly required to be on site, and is regularly required to wear personal protective equipment (safety glasses, steel toe shoes and ear protection) when entering the shop environment.


• Employee may be required to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 10% of the time.


• The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment. During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
