What you will be doing

We are seeking a qualified Site Service Shift Engineer to join our successful UK team based at Stansted Airport.
Reporting to the Field Services Area Manager, you will support on-site installation, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance of airport security systems at our valued client site.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Perform a wide variety of technical support activities independently, including installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and servicing x-ray and CT-based security systems at customer sites, handling complex products and problems, and providing guidance to lower-level technicians.
  2. Develop and maintain relationships with current and potential clients, including major UK international and regional airports, to ensure client satisfaction through the delivery and maintenance of security and detection products and services.
  3. Coordinate and deliver preventative maintenance services on various security search equipment.
  4. Support customers by installing, calibrating, maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex security systems.
  5. Conduct formal and informal training for customer personnel on system operation and maintenance, including on-site technical and operator training.
  6. Identify operational/technical problems via phone or in person, responding to customer inquiries until resolved.
  7. Troubleshoot system interface problems during installations and advise customers on equipment capabilities and modifications.
  8. Proficiently use CRM software such as Salesforce to complete administrative tasks by required deadlines.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Graduate of a technical school or military training in electronics engineering technology is highly desirable.
  • Solid experience in a site or field service environment within a relevant industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of x-ray, CT technologies, and related products.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and customer interface skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of complex digital and analog circuitry; Linux knowledge is a plus.
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems, test equipment (DVM, oscilloscope), and high voltage/X-ray equipment preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize, work under pressure, and perform multiple activities independently.
  • May require lifting heavy weights occasionally.
  • Experience in security and detection systems, aviation, or operating in a global environment is beneficial.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a high standard of work and be a team player, based in Stansted Airport, UK, within commuting distance.
