Freelance Site Manager Student Accommodation Project

Project Duration: Approx. 13 Weeks (Demolition Phase)

We re currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to oversee the demolition phase of a large-scale student accommodation development in Edinburgh. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role on a high-profile £20m project.

The Role:

You will be responsible for the day-to-day site management of the demolition phase, ensuring all works are delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard. You ll coordinate subcontractors, liaise with stakeholders, and maintain site safety and quality standards throughout.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage demolition activities on site

  • Ensure compliance with all health & safety procedures

  • Coordinate subcontractors and materials

  • Maintain site records and reporting

  • Attend site meetings and liaise with project teams

Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Site Manager on demolition or major construction projects

  • SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certification

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and keep works on programme

  • Previous experience on student accommodation or similar residential schemes is desirable
