Project Overview:
A Tier 1 Contractor is seeking a Site Engineer for an immediate start on a major highways project in Gloucester. This role involves delivering essential civil engineering works, including earthworks, drainage, and highways construction as part of a large-scale infrastructure programme.
Key Responsibilities:
Set out and survey works in accordance with the project specifications and design drawings.
Ensure all works are executed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
Assist with the planning and coordination of site activities, materials, and equipment.
Maintain detailed site records including site diaries, quality inspections, and as-built surveys.
Provide technical support to the site team and subcontractors.
Assist with the preparation of method statements, risk assessments, and ITPs.
Liaise with the Section Engineer and Site Management to ensure smooth project delivery.
Essential Requirements:
Proven experience on highways projects with a focus on drainage, earthworks, and carriageway construction.
Relevant civil engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent).
Valid CSCS card (Engineer level or higher).
SMSTS or SSSTS and appropriate health & safety training.
Experience working on projects for or with Tier 1 Contractors.
Familiarity with GPS, Total Station, and digital setting-out tools.
