We are looking to strengthen our Construction team with a Site Engineer, based at Knapp Mill Christchurch, Bournemouth.
You will report directly to the Site Manager, and your role will involve providing setting out and quality control services to ensure that the contract works are constructed to the specification in a safe manner, while maintaining appropriate site records.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with C.D.M. Regulations and comply with the company's safe working practices.
- Assist in preparing construction programmes, Method Statements, Action Plans, and Risk Assessments.
- Set out the works.
- Check site work to ensure compliance with specifications and drawings.
- Agree site measurements and records with the client's staff.
- Maintain drawing files, drawing register, and site filing system.
- Liaise with the design department to ensure updated information is used.
- Take off quantities from drawings for measurement purposes and assist in preparing requisitions.
- Assist in preparing construction completion documentation.
- Ensure works are constructed to a good quality, in line with specifications and good working practices.
- Maintain quality records.
- Ensure all works comply with current legislation, health & safety policies, procedures, and safe working practices.
- Establish good, honest, and open communication lines.
- Lead by example in safety behaviors as a Site Engineer.
Minimum requirements:
- BTEC National or HNC in Civil Engineering/Construction (minimum)
- Levelling & Surveying experience (using total stations & automatic level)
- Desirable: First Aid at Work qualification, SMSTS, CSCS Supervision card, EUSR SHEA Water
