Apply: General Summary The Simulator Logistic Support Technician II provides technical expertise in the maintenance upkeep and availability of a maintenance simulator device in accordance with contractual specifications, standards, and instructions located in Swartz Barracks, Oakey, QLD.
Essential Job Functions - Must relocate to Oakey, QLD, during the contract period.
- Performs preventative maintenance checks and services per technical guidelines and equipment specifications, ensuring proper functionality and safe operating conditions.
- Performs firmware loading, diagnostics, and testing of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and custom training device simulation electrical and mechanical components and assemblies using appropriate software tools, as necessary.
- Understands and applies technical data, CAD drawings, engineering change notices, and equipment specifications.
- Tests, troubleshoots, and validates functionality of electrical, electronic, computer, and avionics systems on UH-60 maintenance simulators using complex plans, drawings, diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Works closely with production work leads, engineering, and project management in arriving at the most economical solution to complex repair, modification, testing, and calibration problems.
- Participate in sync meeting and other required meetings.
- Complies with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) restrictions on the export of military hardware and training services.
- Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots the maintenance simulator.
- Performs daily operational readiness testing procedures.
- Performs required daily/weekly/monthly, and similar required periodic preventive maintenance.
- Troubleshoots and analyzes system failures using sound troubleshooting techniques.
- Troubleshoots computer systems and equipment to Line Replaceable Units (LRU)s and/or component level.
- Repairs hardware at the component level.
- Documents and reports system failure information for installed systems.
- Analyzes system failures to root cause to eliminate future failures.
- Repairs or replaces defective components using common hand tools.
- Reformats, configures, and installs software and drivers on computer systems.
- Configures network connectivity within the simulator environment.
- Troubleshoots and repairs Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) system and repairs emergency stop circuitry.
- May be required to perform delivery and installation of training devices or incorporate modifications to existing training devices.
- Provides analysis support to include technical data packages, maintenance manuals, instructor utilization handbooks, testing documentation, etc.
- Enters work order data in a timely and accurate manner into the management information system
- Provides accurate inventory tracking and inventory reporting for Initial Spares Kit on an as required basis.
- Must be capable of safely handling government-furnished equipment and materials.
- Must be available to work a standard weekly schedule with overtime as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Must be able to read, navigate, and interpret applicable technical manuals, engineering drawings and IETMs.
- Intermediate understanding of electricity and power flow.
- Possesses knowledge and capabilities to repair hardware at the component level and install and configure software on small computers.
- Requires knowledge of probable effects of various issues encountered during the development and modification to training systems. Must be able to recommend solutions to all aspects of electrical, electronic, and mechanical issues and have the ability to take corrective action to troubleshoot and correct as necessary.
- Proficient at troubleshooting and analyzing system failures using sound troubleshooting techniques. Possess the capabilities to document and report system failure information for installed systems.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency with a digital multimeter and other test equipment and software.
- Comfortable working in a team or independently.
- Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain a valid driver's license.

- Must be able to gain access to military installation.
- Must be able to obtain a security clearance when required by the contract.
Education and Experience - High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Four (4) years of experience directly related to the area of expertise in the maintenance or operation of systems and subsystems for the project assigned.
- Recent mechanical, electrical, electronic, or computer maintenance experience in a military, industrial, or technical position.
- Additional qualification or experience as required by the Statement of Work.
- Successful completion of an approved Military Instructor Training Program is desired but not required.
- Previous experience in maintaining H-60M maintenance training devices is preferred.
- CDI/CDQAR qualifications preferred.
