JOB TITLE: Shop Technician Level II
REPORTS TO: Shop Manager
JOB SUMMARY: Inspect, prep, and maintain Scout-owned monoline and flow iron equipment in a warehouse/shop setting. Ensure full functionality of equipment before and after use in the field.
Responsibilities are but not limited to:
- At all times operate in a safe and responsible manner ensuring your own personal safety and the safety of those around you. Adhere and enforce company policies and safety standards.
- Unload and load trucks on Scout properties using a forklift and executing critical lifts.
- Regular teardown, clean up, dimensional measuring/gauging, visual inspections, service/repairs, re-assembly, blasting, painting, and pressure testing.
- Use of knowledge and skills gained from NDE certification and related experience while completing visual inspection, ring groove/bore ID gauge measurements, check valve rebuild, magnetic particle inspection, and painting of Scout and/or customer owned monoline equipment, flow iron, and hoses.
- Participate in daily toolbox talk, safety meetings, and reporting of any hazards throughout the workday. Recommend and implement corrective actions.
- Collect asset numbers, verify torque connections, and ensure proper functioning of Scout equipment before and after field use. Report malfunctioning or failed equipment to Shop Lead(s) and Shop Manager.
- Clean and maintain Scout-owned tools and equipment.
- Report malfunctions in tools and equipment to Shop Lead(s) and Shop Manager.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Had to have worked at least three months as a Level I Shop Technician with Scout or equivalent role at another company.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
- All requirements of Level 1 Technician plus Certificate of Training for Level 1 or 2 NDE (either MPI or UT)
- Ability to work effectively with a team.
- Ability to take initiative and learn new skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs at times.
- Ability to walk around shop facilities for extended periods.
- Consistent ability to work outside in the elements and sometimes challenging outdoor conditions.
- Must have the ability to bend, crouch, kneel, twist, push, and pull.
- Normal vision, with the aid of corrective lenses or devices as needed.
- Ability to operate hand tools and other productivity equipment in the workplace.
