Job Summary:

The Shop Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the proper maintenance, repair, and operation of construction equipment and machinery within the shop facility.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Conducts routine inspections and preventive maintenance on a variety of construction equipment.
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in construction machinery.
  • Performs repairs and part replacements to ensure equipment functionality and safety.
  • Maintains detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities, including parts used, labor hours, and equipment condition.
  • Provides regular status updates on equipment maintenance schedules.
  • Adheres to safety protocols and guidelines during all maintenance and repair activities.
  • Conducts safety inspections on equipment to identify and address potential hazards.
  • Coordinates with project managers, field mechanics, and other stakeholders to prioritize equipment repairs based on project needs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.
  • Works well independently and with others.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
  • Familiar with various parts of software
Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certification from a vocational school or trade school is preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in a related role is required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach clean, and service machinery.
  • Must be able to visually inspect machines.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
