The role will include:
  1. Ensuring sufficient stock is sorted and prepared for sale.
  2. Managing stock collection/deliveries effectively and implementing the shop's pricing guide to maximize sales.
  3. Training, inspiring, and leading both paid staff and volunteers in our stores.
  4. Ensuring staff and volunteers are competent in preparing goods for display, rotating stock, providing excellent customer service, maintaining cleanliness, and implementing Gift Aid schemes.
  5. Recruiting and encouraging volunteers, maintaining a volunteer rota to ensure continuous trading.
  6. Operating the Gift Aid scheme legally and effectively regarding donor engagement, stock sale, and data recording.
  7. Maintaining safety and security of the shop premises.
  8. Organizing backstage areas for efficiency and safety, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
  9. Providing management support to other shops as needed.

Hours of Work

This is a part-time position, contracted for 30 hours per week over 4 days out of 7. We welcome applications from those seeking alternative hours. Regular weekend work is required.

About You

This physically demanding role involves lifting, moving stock, and being on your feet for extended periods. Full manual handling training will be provided, and reasonable adjustments will be considered. Core duties require high physical activity.

  • Good standard of Maths and English
  • Strong team leadership and motivation skills
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
  • Customer-focused with enthusiasm
  • Experience in retail or charity shops
  • Management experience
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle
