Shop Foreman/Mechanic

Dieterman Farm Services , located in Marion, MI is a progressive, family-owned business. With a large fleet of trucks, choppers, and manure tanks, we offer custom services to dairy farms, including forage harvesting, tillage, and manure application. We are hiring a Shop Foreman/Mechanic to oversee operations and inventory of a 100x200 shop. In this hands-on, mechanic role, you will lead projects in the shop and in the field including maintenance on semis, choppers, manure tankers, and various other tractors and equipment. You will be leading the operators who support working on equipment in the off-season as well as one part-time technician. You will also accurately order, count, and maintain parts inventory to align with Dieterman s preventative maintenance philosophy.

What You Will Bring

•  Strong mechanical and operational knowledge in heavy equipment and/or trucks

•  Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

•  Some experience in parts inventory management and work orders preferred, but not required

What You Will Do

•  Troubleshoot and repair farm equipment, semis, and manure spreaders

•  Respond to in-the-field service calls as needed

•  Develop and execute preventative maintenance schedules

•  Accurately order and track parts inventory for all equipment

•  Maintain a safe and clean working environment

•  Communicate effectively with other mechanics and leadership

•  Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance
