Our client is a leading, luxury automobile manufacturer. They are seeking a professional individual to assist the Shipping Lead by assuming responsibility for the training and development of new employees, facilitating the hazardous materials shipping program, and serving as backup to the Shipping Lead.
May be asked to provide clear verbal and/or written communication to dealers, vendors, and various departments regarding shipping issues. Provide coaching to personnel and develop a productive work team.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Provide training to all new employees in Shipping in the following areas: proper picking, packing and shipping of orders and hazardous material processing and handling
2. Coordinate the daily processing and handling of all shipments including hazardous materials, Proper document preparation and maintenance of current files (to include the MSDS book)
3. Plan daily orders (as needed)
4. Perform standard picking procedures for all order types as required.
5. Monitor and adhere to shipping commitments in terms of daily shipping schedules and procedures
6. Monitor and replenish as necessary any supplies and equipment needed in the Shipping area
7. Guarantee the safe and efficient operation of all material handling equipment
8. Conduct quality audits of the work being performed by the Shipping personnel
9. Provide support to the Parts Information Coordinator and dealers as needed
10. Provide support to the Shipping Supervisor and Leads as needed
11. Motivate assigned team members to perform at a level that meets and exceeds our current productivity and quality targets
12. Develop and participate in a 'continuous improvement' environment that facilitates process enhancements
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
Experience:
- 2+ years parts warehouse experience with an excellent work record
- Solid working knowledge and understanding of computerized parts systems
- Forklift and Hazmat certified (Will provide training for the latter)
- Advanced computer (PC) proficiency that include working knowledge of SAP, MS Excel and Word applications, etc.
- Sound foundation in basic mathematic principles
- Must be able to operate a forklift, pallet jack and other various warehouse equipment
