Job Summary: The Shipping/Receiving Clerk II is responsible for overseeing the shipping and receiving process, handling, and preparing products for shipment. This role involves working with minimal supervision to ensure that products are shipped in accordance with orders and company standards. The incumbent will also assist with the loading of cargo onto various types of trucks. Forklift experience is preferred for this role.
Core Responsibilities: Shipping Duties: - Ship products according to shipping orders, completing bills of lading, and other necessary documentation.
- Wrap or arrange materials in shipping containers using appropriate packing materials to ensure safe delivery.
- Verify that products are properly packed and prepared for shipment.
- Interpret packing specifications and calculate container sizes and dimensions based on equipment to be packed, utilizing drawings or measurements.
- Select and apply correct barrier materials (e.g., cushioning materials) and hardware (e.g., nails, nuts, bolts) to ensure secure and safe shipment.
Receiving Duties: - Unload incoming shipments and check for accuracy and quality.
- Organize products in the receiving area for further processing.
- Inspect shipments for damages or discrepancies, report issues to management for resolution.

oading/Handling Cargo: - Load cargo onto various types of trucks using forklifts (forklift experience preferred).
- Ensure the proper handling of products to minimize damage during transit.
Qualifications and Experience: - Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a shipping/receiving role.
- Forklift Experience: Preferred.
Skills: - Strong attention to detail, ability to interpret packing and shipping specifications, and proficiency in documentation processes.
Physical Requirements: - Ability to lift and move heavy items, sometimes in excess of 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, and operate forklifts for extended periods.
Education: High School
