The shipping clerk maintains all shipping records, ensuring the organization of all files and documents. Additionally, the shipping clerk prepares records of shipments and bills of lading for all types of carriers, prepares records for receipt of incoming material and outgoing customer orders and posts to open orders of suppliers. The shipping clerk's overall responsibility is to ensure the accuracy of shipping documents and internal documents by striving to accurately maintain company documentation in relation to the shipment of goods and the equipment and materials used in the process.

Purchase and maintain office materials and supplies for department.

Assist in contacting third party logistics to make arrangements and to issue instructions and documents for shipping and delivery of materials, including but not limited to data entry.

Complete necessary management reports as required.

Maintain inventory and maintenance logs of all machines and machinery/tools used in the shipping department.

Determine shipping method for materials and track orders for on-time delivery, notifying department management of delayed or missed shipments.

Prepare and maintain correspondence such as work orders, packing slips, bills of lading, customer memos and shipping orders, file/process/organize previous day's orders

Maintain, explain, and follow all safety standards set up by NEI for personal use as well as to outside/internal personnel whenever necessary.

Work to maintain and understand all the cornerstones of the NEI quality policy.

Serve as central point of contact for shipping department, answering and documenting requests from internal and external customers/

This position description is intended to cover the most significant, ongoing job functions and competency areas. Successful performance in the role will require performing satisfactorily other duties as assigned.

Salary: $32K-$48K

High School Diploma or GED required.

Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

The worker must be able to access, analyze and otherwise work with, enter information stored in or obtained through the company's computer system, and to communicate effectively with co-workers and third parties who have business dealings with the company's operations.

Little to no travel is anticipated with this position
