Position Title: Shipping Clerk Summary:
The Shipping Clerk oversees the selection, packaging, and shipment of orders, ensuring efficient and timely delivery. This senior-level position provides guidance and training to coworkers and is responsible for maintaining shipping quality and safety standards.
Pay Rate: $23.00/hour
Duties:
- Supervises the selection, packaging and shipping of orders, ensuring their delivery is efficient and timely
- Enters necessary data such as work orders and freight and shipment information into computer system
- Make arrangements with freight carriers for shipment both nationally as well as internationally
- Ensures safety processes and procedures are being followed, makes recommendations for improvement as needed
- Provides training and direction to Shipping Clerks
- Responsible for maintaining quality levels related to job duties and has the authority to address issues of quality at any level
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Advanced data entry skills
- Working knowledge and use of SAP
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds Physical Demands:
- The employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, keyboards or controls
- Reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
- Occasionally required to walk, sit; and may also be required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
