Position Purpose: The Shipping and Receiving Clerk plays a crucial role in day-to-day Shipping and Receiving operations. They verify and keep records for incoming and outgoing shipments, deliver non-inventory items to specific departments, and communicate with all departments on a regular basis. They prepare items for shipment by performing the necessary checks on quality and required company and customer standards.

- Complete Daily Inspection and Cleaning Logs
- Follow GMP, Food Safety and Employee Safety Procedures.
- Generate and maintain transactions and record via ERP system.
- Ship and receive raw materials and finished goods and ensure all documentation steps are completed according to company standards.
- Ensure all shipments are properly labeled and packed according to Codes of Federal Regulations (49CFR and IATA)
- Ensure all Inventory is stored according to local, state, and federal codes.
- Inspect and verify all incoming goods are received in good condition and quantity and quality match written expectations.
- Retrieve and place items on the warehouse racks by using the forklift when needed.
- Perform all computer functions necessary to ensure inventory is correct and material is in correct locations.
- Perform cycle counts as instructed to validate inventory count matches ERP system.
- Drive between Custom Flavors' business locations to make inter-company transfers.
- Drive to additional locations to pick-up and drop-off items as needed.
- Determine method of shipment and utilize knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
- Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor and all other appropriate departments and stakeholders
- Additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills: - Ability to effectively communicate with all colleagues, levels of management, vendors, and customers
- Knowledge of forklift operation and rules of safety

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, as well as talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Must be able to regularly use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and climb stairs. The position requires the ability to occasionally lift shipping and receiving supplies up to 50 pounds and ability to push or pull up to 400 pounds.
Working conditions The position works in a shipping and receiving warehouse setting. This role routinely uses shipping and receiving equipment such as a pallet jack, forklifts, and standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Travel Local travel to multiple worksites during the business day may be required.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm.
Required Education and Experience - High school diploma
- Willing and able to become hazmat certified.
Preferred Qualifications - 2+ years' experience in shipping and receiving
- CDL
- Hazmat certification
