Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Job Description

The Shipping and Receiving Specialist is responsible for handling all incoming and outgoing shipments. This role involves receiving and inspecting incoming materials for damage and accuracy, documenting receipts, and safely moving materials to appropriate locations. Additionally, the Specialist prepares and stages products for shipment according to specifications and completes or verifies shipment paperwork to ensure proper delivery. The position also requires maintaining a clean, safe work area and performing routine equipment cleaning, as well as supporting team efforts by performing additional tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Receive and inspect incoming materials for damage and accuracy.
  • Document receipts and safely move materials to appropriate locations, which may involve operating a forklift.
  • Prepare and stage products for shipment according to specifications.
  • Complete or verify shipment paperwork to ensure proper delivery.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and perform routine equipment cleaning.
  • Support team efforts by performing additional tasks as assigned.
Essential Skills
  • 3+ years of shipping and warehouse experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Functional requirement in shipping and receiving.
  • Material handling and forklift operation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Some college education is preferred.
  • 6+ months of shipping/receiving experience.
  • Familiarity with Proshop software.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with RF scanners.

Work Environment

The work environment encompasses various divisions, including machining, quality inspection, assembly, sheet metal, and welding. The assembly department is located between the machining and sheet metal/weld shop, providing a clean manufacturing shop atmosphere due to the military customer base. The facility requires ITAR certification for military and defense products, which means only U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents are allowed entry. Parts handled can range from the size of a person's fist to dimensions of 6x4x4 feet.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
