We're committed to creating a world-class manufacturing environment, and we're looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerk to help us achieve that goal.
Essential Duties include the following:
Receiving Shipments:
• Inspect incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies.
• Verify the contents of shipments against purchase orders or packing lists.
• Record and report any damages, shortages, or incorrect items to supervisors.
• Unload goods from trucks and ensure proper storage in designated areas.
Shipping Orders:
• Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to customer specifications.
• Label packages with appropriate shipping information (e.g., addresses, tracking numbers).
• Coordinate with shipping carriers to ensure timely dispatch and delivery.
• Maintain shipping logs and ensure all shipping documents are properly completed.
Inventory Management:
• Maintain accurate inventory records using software or manual tracking systems.
• Ensure stock is organized and easily accessible for future orders.
• Monitor stock levels and report low inventory to supervisors or procurement team.
Quality Control:
• Ensure all items are in good condition and meet quality standards.
• Handle returns or defective products by processing returns and notifying appropriate departments.
Safety and Compliance:
• Follow all safety procedures when handling shipments, lifting items, and operating equipment.
• PPE as required
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations for shipping and receiving.
Documentation and Reporting:
• Prepare and maintain shipping/receiving records, such as packing slips, bills of lading, and inventory logs.
• Communicate with vendors, customers, or other departments regarding shipment status, delays, or issues.
General Warehouse Duties:
• Keep work areas clean and organized.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other warehouse equipment (if certified).
• Assist in stocktaking and physical inventories.
Education/Skills Required:
• Must be 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in shipping and receiving, warehousing, or inventory management is preferred.
• Knowledge of basic computer programs (e.g., Microsoft Office, warehouse management software).
• Ability to operate warehouse machinery (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) and maintain certification if required.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication skills to interact with vendors, team members, and supervisors.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, and move products, sometimes weighing up to 50 lbs.
