Description

MK Services in Middleton, MA wants to add a Shipping Clerk to our growing team.

The Shipping Clerk manages incoming and outgoing shipments of products, materials, and supplies in a CNC manufacturing environment. This role ensures the accuracy and timeliness of all shipments and maintains inventory records.

Key Responsibilities

Receive Incoming Shipments:
  • Verify and inspect received items for accuracy and damages.
  • Match shipping documents to product orders.
  • Label and store received items in designated storage areas.
Prepare Outgoing Shipments:
  • Pack and label materials according to shipping instructions.
  • Prepare shipping documents (e.g., bills of lading, and airway bills).
  • Coordinate with carriers and logistics providers for timely delivery.
Inventory Management:
  • Track inventory levels and maintain accurate records.
  • Organize and catalog items in the stockroom.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits.
Equipment Operation:
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other shipping and receiving equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain equipment in good working condition.
Documentation and Reporting:
  • Prepare regular shipping and receiving reports for management.
  • Handle issues arising in shipping or inventory handling.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental management and systems.
Customer and Vendor Interaction:
  • Resolve shipment and delivery issues with customers and suppliers.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments to ensure smooth operations.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise

Education:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
Experience:
  • Previous experience in a shipping and receiving role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations and inventory management.
Skills:
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with shipping software and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks.
