Shift Supervisor will be a key role Supervising the overall day to day, performance, coordination, management of production, of the specified mining shift to assist in obtaining safety, productivity, efficiency, quality, service, and profitability for the organization.

Shift: 10 PM - 6 AM

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Monitor employee's productivity and assist employees with troubleshooting and work process problems.
  • Identifies and assigns work procedures, prepare work schedules and expedite workflow.
  • Communicate issues to operations manager and identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist the operations manager with development and execution of safety plans.
  • Administer company policies including attendance tracking and monitoring.
  • Provide coaching for improved performance.
  • Prepare reports on accident/incident that happen during the shift.
  • Plans and schedule necessary downtime with maintenance department.
  • Ensure employee Health and Safety through compliance with all safety and mine regulations, company policies and regulations.
  • Understand, promote, and operate by overall company vision, values, goals, objectives and strategies.
  • Organize training for equipment operators to improve their competencies.
  • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings to ensure employees are informed of safety and production issues.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
      • Mine Engineering or related fields.
  • Minimum of 5 years of similar capacity preferably in mining.
  • Organization - due to handling a multitude of tasks, good organizational skills only enhance chances of success.
  • Cooperation - must work well with others including adapting to a variety of personalities.
  • Problem Analysis - must be a logical thinker and possess good troubleshooting abilities. Quick thinker and decisive on direction.
  • Knowledge Area - engineering or related background. Management background preferred or equivalent background as Operations Supervisor in mining or a similar field.
  • Adequate computer skills: Microsoft office, Outlook, Excel
  • Special Skills - ability to handle a number of tasks and bring projects and assignments to closure in a timely manner. Proactive type of person.
  • Mining Experience is preferred.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Once a year or less.
