Position: Shift Leader
Reports To: General Manager / 1st Assistant Manager
Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time Hour can be from (18-45)
Job Summary:
As a Shift Leader, you are responsible for supporting the restaurant's management team in leading operations during assigned shifts. You will coach crew, delegate tasks, drive performance, and ensure every shift meets McDonald's standards for service, cleanliness, and food quality. You set the tone for the team and act as the go-to person when the manager is not on site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Supervise and coach crew during shifts to deliver exceptional guest service
- Lead by example to ensure all food is prepared safely and to quality standards
- Manage shift operations including labor, product levels, and equipment function
- Communicate effectively with team and managers to ensure smooth shift transitions
- Monitor cleanliness, customer service, speed of service, and food safety
- Handle customer concerns professionally and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Complete shift documentation and cash handling procedures accurately
- Ensure crew follow policies, procedures, and McDonald's standards at all times
- Motivate and recognize team performance to improve retention and morale
- Support training and onboarding of new crew members
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older (due to job responsibilities and labor law compliance)
- Prior restaurant or leadership experience preferred, but not required
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills
- Ability to multitask in a high-paced environment
- Strong sense of urgency and accountability
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
