We are currently recruiting for a shift electrician (Shift Engineer) to join our manufacturing client based in Doncaster (DN4 5HX)

MAIN ASPECTS OF THE ROLE:
The role will involve carrying out fault finding and repair activities in the event of any breakdowns within the plant. In addition, planned maintenance schedules and projects, including supporting drawings and documents will be undertaken in line with scheduling.

Pay Rate:
20.14 an hour plus bonus
Production bonus = min of 1.50 an hour worked - average is 1.65
Safety bonus 15p for every hour worked safely

Working Hours
Average of 37.5 hours a week based on a 2 week rata

Week 1 = days. Monday - Wednesday 6am-6pm
Week 2 = nights. Monday - Wednesday 6pm - 6am and Thursday 6pm - 2pm

WHAT WE REQUIRE FROM YOU:

  • Electrical Apprenticeship, preferably to ONC standard
  • Previous experience of working in a Maintenance Engineering role with experience of PPMs ideally within a warehouse, FMCG or similar automation environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work at heights and confined spaces
  • PC literate

MAIN DUTIES OF THE ROLE:

  • Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to, working in line with H&S procedures and company policy
  • Keeping accurate and detailed records and reports through written/email/reporting software systems (AllDevice)
  • Perform fault-finding and diagnosis on PLC controlled machinery from schematic drawings.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations and industry standard practices
  • Be responsible for the recording of all work undertaken in relation to industry standard practice.
  • Analysis/Resolution/Improvement of Electrical faults and repairs
  • Conduct regular inspections whilst assisting in the completion and review of risk assessments for the department.
  • Conduct installations of new electrical systems
  • Working alongside other Engineers and alone to combine a great deal of initiative and enthusiasm with a sound understanding of electrical and mechanical issues and carry out mechanical repairs where you are competent to do so.
  • Be responsible for part auditing and ordering as appropriate to ensure equipment downtime is kept to minimum and critical spares are readily available.
  • To Undertake all training offered to carry their role to the full potential with technological advances put into practice from the training to better production efficiencies and working standards.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping standards at all times
  • Follow work instructions in a safe manner and abide by all SOP's and risk assessments
