SharePoint Collaboration System Administrator

As a SharePoint expert, you will advise the team on complex issues and collaborate with Microsoft's product development, influencing their roadmap with your feedback. Additionally, you will ensure security and compliance across the Microsoft 365 platform, maintaining service quality through performance metrics.

Role Definition:

We are seeking a seasoned SharePoint Systems Administrator who will be responsible for administrating and managing Microsoft SharePoint services including: M365 Government Cloud, SharePoint Online and SharePoint 2019 On-premises, for our over 100,000 active users. This role involves ensuring that our platforms are secure, compliant, and functioning efficiently while leveraging modern technology like AvePoint, Microsoft Syntex and Microsoft 365 Copilot.

What You Will Do:
  • Administer and manage Microsoft SharePoint services including M365 Government Cloud, SharePoint Online, and SharePoint 2019 On-premises for over 100,000 active users.
  • Opportunities for development in this role will primarily focus on utilities designed to aid in the efficient administration of the SharePoint environment.
  • Ensure platforms are secure, compliant, and function efficiently while leveraging modern technology like AvePoint, Microsoft Syntex, and Microsoft 365 Copilot.
  • Provide advisory support to the team on complex issues as a subject matter expert for SharePoint.
  • Participate in large-scale projects supporting the organization.
  • Contribute to the development of Microsoft products.
  • Enhance user experience through modern design, improved navigation, and enhanced functionality implemented via Microsoft's Targeted and Standard release rings.
What You Have:
  • U.S. law prohibits the release of U.S. controlled technology and technical data to certain persons without authorization. This position involves items or information which may be subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or controlled for national security or other reasons under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Therefore, in order to satisfy the requirements for this position, the successfully applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Experience in supporting a Microsoft 365 GCC High environment is a plus.
  • Thorough knowledge of existing and emerging Microsoft 365 and related enterprise class collaboration platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of SharePoint Online architecture, features, and functionalities.
  • Knowledge of web technologies including Graph API and familiarity with scripting in PowerShell.
  • Basic knowledge with Entra ID including groups, guest access, application permissions, federation, privileged roles, and license management.
  • Identifies and documents specific problems and resolution alternatives.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills, initiative, and intellectual curiosity.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment where technology is evolving at a rapid pace.
  • Passion for technology and an eagerness to contribute as a collaborative team member.

  • Core Application Systems : Knowledge of major production application systems used for delivery services to internal and external clients; ability to leverage major production application systems in diverse situations.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Implementation: Knowledge of how to run applications for organizations; ability to implement application software within an organization and help end-users perform specific tasks (ex: accounting or graphic design).
  • Requirements Analysis : Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
  • System and Technology Integration : Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases, and technology platforms.
  • System Testing: Knowledge of system and software testing; ability to design, plan and execute system testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of software at all stages of the system life cycle.

Summary Pay Range:

$95,640.00 - $143,520.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
