Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as a Maintenance Technician for HON Partners. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for day-to-day maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repairs in occupied single-family homes. Additionally, the Maintenance Technician will work with the renovations team to complete includes lock changes, developing scopes of work, performing general maintenance and repairs on vacant properties, quality checks on vendor work, and completing lease-up inspections with the local housing authority.
The role will require working in High Opportunity Neighborhoods in suburban areas around the Houston market. This includes cities located within Spring, Cypress & Humble. A typical day involves receiving work orders, prioritizing them, planning the routes, scheduling with tenants, and then driving to each home to complete the tasks. While some repairs are straightforward, such as changing faucets and light fixtures, others are more complex, like drywall repairs and leak detection.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following characteristics:
Bachelor's degree or higher education beyond a high school diploma is required.
HVAC - EPA Universal Certification is required.
At a minimum, 5+ years of HVAC, medium plumbing and light electrical experience required. In addition, the candidate should have experience with general handy work and drywall/leak repairs.
Only candidates with a truck or SUV can be considered at this time.
The ability to repair/replace water heaters and garage doors is preferred.
Knowledge of Section 8 and rental licensing preferred, not required. However, expected to learn on the job.
Ability to work independently, prioritize jobs, and schedule jobs accordingly and efficiently.
CMMS knowledge - AppFolio or similar.
Background checks and drug screenings will be conducted on all final candidates, as deemed necessary.
A brief technical interview will be conducted with all candidates.
