This is a critical and exciting opportunity to become the first dedicated employee in the U.S. market.
We are looking for someone with a strong technical background, primarily focused on service technician responsibilities, but who can also support sales activities as the business grows.
The ideal candidate will be hands-on, self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and culturally aware of working with a European (Austrian) company.
Initially, the position is service-oriented; however, successful performance could lead to broader business development and leadership roles, including support for establishing a formal U.S. subsidiary in the near future.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation, commissioning, and production support of furnace and dosing systems at customer foundries.
- Provide technical support during project planning and execution phases.
- Support urgent service needs and production ramp-ups for major U.S. OEM clients.
- Act as the primary technical and service contact for the North American customers.
- Provide regular maintenance, service, and technical troubleshooting support.
- Support informal sales efforts through client relationship management and opportunity spotting.
- Help lay the groundwork for establishing a U.S. subsidiary, including future hiring (second role likely focused more heavily on sales).
Qualifications
- Education & Certification:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (must be licensed to operate in the U.S. market).
- Additional degree or strong experience in Mechanical and Pneumatic Engineering preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Understanding of both electrical and mechanical systems.
- Basic robot programming skills (Fanuc and ABB).
- Basic PLC programming skills (Siemens).
- Professional Skills:
- Strong customer service and client-facing capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and report remotely without daily supervision.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel extensively across North America ( 50-70% depending on location).
- Adaptability to different time zones and urgent customer requests.
- Cultural Fit:
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity to working with a European (Austrian/German) organization.
- Entrepreneurial mindset - capable of thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced, and flexible environment.
- Open to learning and adapting if not from the die casting industry (industry-specific experience is a plus but not mandatory).
