Position Information In support of the IT Service Management (ITSM) initiative, the Service Now Programmer will support the development and implementation of optimizing enterprise service management processes, and improving service delivery and collaboration within and across business functions. The Service Now Developer will serve as a developer for UC Riverside staff, faculty, and students configuring and building modules, forms, and workflows in the ServiceNow Platform to positively align with business strategies and affect business and student outcomes. This position will use the ITIL framework to provide technical assistance, workflow development, software configuration, customization, and web service integrations. This may also include providing administration, application development, maintenance, and technical support.
Please Note: This position is designated as a Career Ladder recruitment, which means the hiring department can recruit and fill this role at different levels within the position classification series. Therefore, this position is currently posted as a Service Now Developer (Applications Programmer 3, ID ) and a Junior Service Now Developer (Applications Programmer 2, ). Applicants are encouraged to review both positions to determine the best match to your skills. All applicants will be assessed based on the minimum requirements for the recruitment for which they applied. This position is classified as predominantly remote with occasional visits to campus as needed. Working hours will be based on Pacific Standard Time (PST).
The full salary range for the Service Now Developer is $73,600 - $133,200 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $99,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Experience Requirements- 4 - 7 years of related experience. (Required)
- 4 -7 years experience with ServiceNow module implementation and support (Preferred)
- 4 - 7 years experience with ServiceNow IT Service Management (ITSM) (Preferred)
- 4 - 7 years experience with ServiceNow Customer Service Management (CSM) (Preferred)
- 4 - 7 years experience with ServiceNow IT Business Management (ITBM) (Preferred)
Minimum Requirements Intermediate knowledge of secure software development. Experience with planning for deployment and creation of feedback mechanisms. Demonstrated ability to understand functional needs and how systems can support those needs. Demonstrated ability to develop conversion and system implementation plans. Thorough experience with common programming tools. Demonstrated ability to follow software specifications. Demonstrated ability to contribute technical narrative to grant proposals. Demonstrated ability to interface with management on a regular basis. Demonstrates understanding of ServiceNow best practices in the platform and its capabilities. Demonstrated software repository skills. Demonstrated testing and test planning skills. Advanced skills associated with software design, modification, implementation and deployment, including object-oriented programming concepts. Demonstrated broad problem solving skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Thorough experience with identification and use of code libraries and open-source forums. Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
