Service Leader of Oncology-Full Time-NE Methodist Hospital
Nebraska Methodist Hospital is looking for a Service Leader of Oncology to join our team. This role is responsible for the daily operations of the oncology department, including leading staff, improving performance, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, managing the budget, and supporting quality outcomes.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Patient Care & Policies: Ensures nursing care policies are in place to assess, meet, and evaluate patient needs while promoting individualized care and service.
- Resource & Budget Management: Manages staffing, supplies, and budgets effectively, adjusts resources as needed, and implements cost-saving strategies.
- Leadership & Team Development: Leads by example, motivates staff, recognizes excellence, and supports succession planning and staff growth.
- Accountability & Compliance: Maintains high standards, owns decisions, adapts when plans aren't working, and ensures compliance with accreditation standards.
- Planning & Communication: Sets clear priorities, solves problems proactively, encourages innovation, and communicates expectations and feedback effectively.

Job Requirements:
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Master Degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum three years of progressively more responsible experience in area(s) of expertise. Health care experience preferred.
License/Certifications:
- Current valid Nebraska RN License, valid compact multistate license to work in Nebraska, or a temporary permit while awaiting licensure required.
- Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire.
- Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred for those who manage high acuity units.
- Preferred core certification related to area of specialty within one year of eligibility.
